Remember the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit (up to $8000) or the Replacement of a Primary Residence Tax Credit (up to $6500) that expired in April 2010? Both tax credits were extended to April 30th 2011 for Active Duty Military, Intelligence Services, and Foreign Services personnel. To qualify, personnel must have served outside the USA for at least 90 days between 01/01/2009 and 04/30/2010.
Time is running out! They must have a home under contract by April 30, 2011 and close by June 30, 2011. This one-year extension of the tax credit has received almost no press. If you know anyone who might qualify for this please pass the information along to him or her.
