Good morning, I am April Gerdes with The Mortgage Advantage, and I would like to talk about volunteering this morning. With our economy in the position it is – how could you not be a little frustrated? Sad? Or maybe even a little depressed. Whether you are a real estate agent, and you have had more deals fall apart than actually close..Or you are a lender, and programs and guidelines are changing daily…Or you are a homeowner and you would like to modify your loan – or sell your home – but can’t because you are way underwater on your loan. Whatever the scenario is – we are all under stress.
Well, one of the things that I do is volunteer. In fact, in the past month – we at The Mortgage Advantage, Inc. have volunteered at more than 3 different charities.
St. Mary’s food bank is always looking for volunteers. Whether to pack food – which 2 weeks ago, we helped, create over 23 thousand meals. Or, they also have a facility to serve food. We also volunteer at Paz de Christo, and they are located in Mesa. At Paz, you can volunteer to actually make meals and serve the homeless directly. It is so rewarding to see the smiles on these peoples faces. On Tuesdays, Paz also helps get groceries to those in need. If you would like to volunteer with Paz, their number is: 480-464-2370.
Project Cure is another charity that we volunteer at. Project Cure is an amazing charity that provides medical supplies and equipment to needy people in over 120 countries. I know these times are stressful, but there are so many people out there that are truly struggling everyday. So, I suggest volunteering – you will be so happy you did!
